Ford cars are a popular choice for many drivers. They come in all shapes and sizes, from the economical Fiesta to the luxurious Lincoln MKZ.  Ford Raptors are also popular among the brand. Regardless of what you’re looking for in a vehicle, there is a Ford car out there for you. Below are tips on maintaining your Ford Car so that it lasts as long as possible.

Wash Your Car Regularly

spongeIf you want to keep your car looking great and prevent it from rusting, then you should wash it regularly. You don’t have to do this every time that you drive; make sure that the dirt hasn’t been on the car for too long. If there is a lot of dirt or mud, then go ahead and wash. This is how many car washes can remove this type of filth. Do you want to save money and do it yourself? If so, then try out a self-wash! All you need is your car keys, soap, water hoses or buckets, towels for drying off the vehicle afterward. Don’t forget to wear gloves so that the soap doesn’t dry out your skin! You will want to start by wetting down your car with water and then spraying it off with the hose nozzle. Make sure not to damage any paint, as this is how rust starts.

Check the Engine Oil

This is something that you should do every morning before driving your car. It’s the first thing! Before even starting up your vehicle, make sure to check if there is enough oil in the engine. If not, then go ahead and add some more after checking what type of oil should be used with your user manual.

Check the Tires

Make sure to check the tires before each drive, even if you are running down to the grocery store. If there is a nail in one of your tires, or they look low on air pressure, then go ahead and get it fixed right away! You don’t want any issues when driving around town. Many people have had to get tire service in the middle of a busy highway with no shoulder.

Change the Air Filters

If not, check out where they may be in your user manual, or ask a professional at an auto parts store or dealership for assistance! Some cars will even tell you when these need changed. You can also check your car manual or user guide for the recommended mileage to change. Make it a habit to always check your filters.

Perform Drive Line Maintenance

If you haven’t done so already, go ahead and replace the driveline fluid as well. This is typically located in your engine compartment or under the car near where it turns to power the wheels for driving! You may need a jack and some other tools to do this service on your own, which can be found at auto parts. Some cars can come with an automatic transmission fluid change reminder, so you don’t have to worry about it.

Whether you’ve had your Ford car for a few months or decades, it may be time to start thinking about how to maintain it. Follow these tips and keep up with regular maintenance on your vehicle so that you can enjoy driving around in style for years to come. When washing your car, be sure not to forget areas like wheel wells where dirt collects easily. You might also want to give some extra attention inside as well.
